    Hey,

I am looking for a program that will allow me to take a piece out of a sound clip I have and let me save it. I've downloaded a few programs but they won't let me save it when I extract the section of sound I want. Anyone got a good program(only need it for a once off use).

I haven't really edited audio before but Audacity (it's free)should be able to do this.

I haven't used audacity in a while but if I remember correctly it's perfect for what you want. You may need to download a lame encoder for it though to save it as an mp3.

Yeah Audacity should do the trick and you will need LAME encoder to export as an MP3 file. What format is the sound clip you are using in?

    I'm using an AAC file.

Then just get a file converter so that you can change it to mp3 or wav, do your editing and convert it back if needs be. A little messy maybe but Audacity is definitely the tool for the job - apart from the converting bit obviously :D
