whats the best software for downloading videos and songs from youtube ideally free aswell,also if i can only download in flv how do i change the format to play on my mp4

tried that but keeps saying youtube is down, also tried ares tube which seems perfect except it won't connect to internet...any idea why this is?

Errrm.... open your browsers cache folder after playing a youtube video. The FLV file will be there. A good conversion software is called SUPER, it's free and offers many conversion options. It's not a DVD ripper or a DRM stripper, it's a good utility that converts unprotected files into another format.

You can always download the new Realplayer and it gives u a selection if you wanna download vid of an internet site eg You tube...It works a treat so give it ago....

I Find http://converttube.com/ or http://convertube.com/ to be very good and very fast for converting/downloading youtube vids... you can choose a format and it converts it for you and you can then download as that format..

Ive tried this but it keeps saying that im not connected to internet when installing...could it be my settings which are causing this?
