I have a 160gig sata hd. Recently got a blue screen and kept restarting, did a repair and everything was fine until a few days later then bang blue screen again. I redone the repair and again got it working, but it finally gave way. I have it as a second drive now to a 15gig ide master. I can see the drive in My Computer but it says zero bytes, I cant do a scan disk on it as it just disappears also I can't defrag it as it won't let me.

Having it start up with the 15gig the startup is very slow, when I try to access it everything comes to a halt....I went into recovery console and when I do a fixboot it says fileing system unknown, then it rewrites a new boot to it and says fileing system is Ntfs, but when I restart I have no joy with it.

If I try and do a repair on it now I don't get the option, all I get is system file is either too full or corrupt and I get two options, either format (quick) or slow....

Was just trying to pull a few pic's from it and some files....Also whats weird I got a 2nd hand 320gig HD and when I try to put windows xp on it after the initial install after the reboot to the install I get "Disk read error, press ctrl, alt, delete to restart"...When I have the 15gig in the 2nd hand 320gig shows up no problems in my computer...aghhh!

Anyone any ideas what I could do next.
