C64 Game: Who Dares Win I (and not II!)

    Years ago I got Who Dares Wins II as part of a 4 game Zzap Sizzlers compilation. I loved this game and completed it many times over as it was rather easy as games went back then. However I recently came across the reason why "Who Dares Wins II" was not a sequel though I knew it had none. Another site Games that weren't have the details.
    Apparently it was too much like Commando when it was completed and Elite got an injunction to stop it being released as Elite had the rights to the game. A few originals are on ebay.

    I tried out the game and it feels almost identical to WDW II except the map layouts were changed. I got to outpost 3 before I reset the commie. :)

    Anyone play Who Dares Wins going back? I always had a soft spot for it. Ikari Warriors came out later and followed up on it.

    I loved that game. I remember cursing quite a bit at the C64 joystick when trying to throw a grenade, though.
