were kind of rock n roll/classic rock band. we write all our own stuff

good luck. A word of advice, the guys that run it are a bit dodgey they will try and slip a tenner of your money every now and then . It may not happen to you but it did to us so just be careful.

Other than that it is a great experience. I have played the Music Centre and Vicar street because of it. IF you don't win at least you have bragging rights

we played it last year. Got to the semi's. It is a bit of a scam and i would only recommend it for it promotional value to your band. We got a couple of gigs and an offer of a recording sesion out of it afterwards.

one piece of advice, Do enough to get through the first stage and then pull in all your favours and bring your biggest possible crowd in the next stage. All the bands both good and bad had really good crowds in the semis.

It isnt really a battle of the bands as it depends entirly on the crowd you bring and not your ability or sound.

Yeah and my Band,well old band got to the final last year with one of the highest vote counts in the competition and we played first.... in front of like 6 people. Very dissapionting

unfortunately we are on 1st so so r gonna try get a big enough crowd due to the fact the last time we played a BOTB semi's we were on 1st and got knocked out because we did not interact with the 5 people in the crowd at the time.

well if any of ye are free we are playing the 29th of November in Voodoo(hint hint;)) at half 9

its an absolute scam lads. but that doesnt mean it cant be good fun and yes its nice to play TBMC and Vicar St for the final. Its absolutely nothing to do with talent, just about how many mates u bring and how much money they think they can pillage from yer thems who pay inflated prices to watch you for 20/25 mins. The more people that know that the better. I got so embarrassed asking our people to come I was so relieved when it was over. These guys are the enemy of musicas far as I'm concerned. Its not like its illegal are anything but its important to call a spade a spade. Some of the bands who progressed to semis and the final wouldnt get pub gigs for fecks sake.

oh and i'd dissagre with the promo benefit - they do f*ck all promo because they dont need to - they know bands will be bringing everyone and their dog to try and win and the're paying around 10 a pop to do it - they absolutely rake it in
