Hey I know this really belongs in games but I have a problem and all you techies view this forum.

Okay ages ago I downloaded some Sims 2 objects off the internet and installed them how youre supposed to (in the downloads file) and they all worked fine. Come back to the game now to play it and I downloaded some more objects yesterday and put them into the downloads file but they arent appearing in my game.

And last night I installed the Sims 2 Open For Business expansion pack and now NONE of my downloaded objects are showing up in the game. I could reinstall but it's not something I particually want to do as I have downloaded houses and nice developped families I dont want to lose. Any idea whats going on and now I can fix it?

Well with the original Sims, the expansion packs seemed to overwrite any downloaded material so I imagine it's the same in the Sims2 and you'll have to re-install them...

You have a better chance of finding an answer from other Sims2 players who have had the same problem so I'd suggest a dedicated Sims2 forum elseqhere or here :)

When you install a new expansion pack it does overwrite the downloaded items. Try placing all downloads in an external folder the next time you download them, then install your expansion pack and open up the download option again. Overall the sims two is not very compatable with downloads

It cant overwrite the downloaded items because I've installed more than one expansion pack and it's just now when I've installed another. I had four others installed before this one.

Anyway Im uninstalling everything now and reinstalling it.
