The second one is really weird, it could be just me but the stream doesn't look
like it has water in it but looks like its a sheer drop.
The reflections seem to make it look like a big hole in the ground.......

Maybe I'm just going mad or I need to callibrate the lcd screen. ;)

i like what your trying to do in the first photo but i just think the red leaf takes the attention away from the rest of the photo. also, the people in the photo. are they supposed to be a focal point in it or was the timing wrong? also i dont think its entirely in focus but that could just be my wonky eyes! and i think its a bit underexposed.

2nd one just doesnt do it for me.

what kit are you using btw

    Thanks for replys everyone

Those photo's were taken with a fuji S5600 on a tripod

The first photo is the way i wanted it to turn out with the leaf being in focus and the people out!

2nd photo is 3 photos stiched together with ALOT of work done if you want to see the oringal stich ask.

These were taken in Colligan Woods in Dungraven

    EDIT: Photo link inserted

Based on your stated intention, I would have used a wider aperture on the first photograph. I like the idea though, might be tempted to give it a shot myself at some stage.

The second photograph has some glare. I would say slightly over exposed.

I like the concept/idea of the first but find (to my eye) the leaf in focus to be overpowering in terms of the overall image composition. But to be honest the leaf in focus has some wonderful colours.

I quite like the second. 3 images stitched? well i'd not have guessed so fair play to you for this. i like the scene but I wonder has brightness which led to the haze (sun) upset the overall balance?
