heater control back-lights

    Hi all,

I'm trying to replace the bulbs behind the heater controls on a 03 corolla (3dr) but am having a bit of difficulty getting the controls out to properly access the bulbs. The heater control cable is the main problem as I can't detach it from the back of the control unit and the other end of it runs behind the heater-box, well out of sight.

Anyone have any hints or suggestions?! (without resorting to pulling the dash out?!?!?!?)

    Thanks in advance,

I may be mistaken, but I think the 3 knobs can be detached from the facia seperately. think they're clipped in 4 corners. Can't be 100% on that though.

Iv an 03 Avensis, and I can only take one control over. The other two are fairly firm!

Avensis is different as it has electronic position switches in the knobs and motors to move the air circulation position.
the Corolla has old manual style cables (non electronic)

Avensis ones should come off pretty easily.

Pull out the fan control knob, (middle one) that's electronic, there are 2 screws hidden behind that. undo them and pull the panel out, and you'll see the bulbs.
