Hi! I'm looking to buy my nephew a bottle of wine for his christening. Thought it'd be nice for him to sell when he's older and make a few bucks/ or drink it! Any good wine shops in town who would accomodate me or has any1 any reccommendations.

Findlaters are trade only now btw!

    Thanks, mike

Excellent - you're never too early to start appreciating fine wine. Terroirs are good but a little snooty (I find). Berry Brothers accross from Brux Elles and the Weston Hotel is a great little place, and you might want to pick up a bottle of their "good ordinary claret" for yourself (it's far from ordinary).

True, but that's the Westbury, not the Westin.

    It's a nice idea Mike - but I'm not sure it's practical.

Let's say he's going to keep it for about 16 years - to last that long it will need to be kept in reasonably ideal conditions. Shops will arrange this for you - but the cost is normally based on storing cases of wine - might cost about €10 pa + VAT.

Your best option is probably Vintage Port, if you do want to get wine.

Would agree with the shop recommendations - Mitchells or Berry Bros & Rudd.

I think 64 Wine in Glasthule is great.
