Luck of the draw, it was one of those pro-am's. He said it was a good course although he wasn't in 'awe' of it.

He played Oakmont 2 weeks ago, that place he said was the best course he has played. Also played Pinehurst, and played a round with both Gary Player (like a disciplinarian uncle we all have! small but can hit the ball) and Eduardo Romero (he said he was the type you'd have a few pints in the pub with!)

Hasn't played Augusta though! in actual fact, you can't even get to keep your masters ticket, you have to give it back, and if your ever lucky enough to play with a member (you as a guest) and say if the member was a doctor that was called off course for an emergency, you can't just play on to finish out your holes, no member with you means no golf in Augusta!

No, but if I was ever on the West Coast of America I'd definitly try to get a game on it. It looks so amazing on television.

Was on Honeymoon on the west cost and left San Fran and drove to Monterey. I didn't realise where Pebble beach and Cypress Hill courses were until I got a hotel map, they are about 10 miles south between Monterey and Carmel. Also the golf club where Earl Wood's was a member is the Navy club in Monterey and this is where Eldrick first played golf.

I was there over 13 years ago. I hadn't planned to play but drove up in a rented convertible and thought "why not?".

The green fee was US$175 at the time.

I waited for 20 mins, and then saw the game ahead of mine teeing off. 4 mulligans later I went back to the pro shop asked for and got a refund. The pace of play was almost 6 hours!

    Nice place though.
