Looking for use of F/2.8 IS L 70-200mm (Galway)

    Hi ALl:

I know this is terribly cheeky!
I am covering a LoI match tonight in Galway, ususally as LoI is Summer Footy I use my f/4 100-400mm IS L as it is bright enough to capture the images I need.

Tonight though is a completely different ball game (pardon the pun). I have been told that the lighting in the ground is not sufficient enough for the F/4

If anyone has a 70-200mm IS L or a canon mount lens at F/2.8 or less that I could use with a 350D, I would be most greatful!!!!!

Im going down the west coast from Derry to Galway, and will be on the road from 1:30pm.

If you can help call me on 00447701025970

    Many Thanks

not to put a dampner on your request... but I'd say chances range from none to none. I'd loan you mine, if I was in Galway. Then again I'd be looking for a cash security deposit of €2000

    Welcome to boards.

    Welcome to boards.

I thought about as much to be honest Rymus, I would have left my 100-400,, with them as a deposit, I'm just clutching at straws at this stage, and hope the Sports Editor has a blistering Hang Over tomorrow which impares his vision.:)

brings up an interesting point though.. I've always found it to be supremely annoying that the only place you can rent a lens is in Dublin. I asked a guy in a camera shop in Cork a couple of years ago and he looked at me like I had 6 heads. The notion of actually renting a lens was unheard of. Madness.

I'm sure a rental centre in some of the main cities would go down a treat with pro's and amateurs alike. Best of luck finding something!

Maybe you should look into setting up shop. You've identified a market, next step...

    Galway Utd. v Derry City
    Terryland Park
    1945

I don't know anyone down there who could help you.
You might get away with you own lens, if you use a high ISO.

Don't forget to show us your pictures. ;)
