Splitting My Sky into more rooms.

    Hi there,

Sorry to bother everyone, I thought this would be a good place to get pointed in the right direction.

I live in Kildare in and have a Sky dish and box. The box is in my sitting room and I got it split last year to my attic and my bedroom. A lad from Clane Cable Systems did it last time and while it worked out okay I found him a bit creepy and abrupt.

I was hoping now to get it split into two more rooms and also to get those "Eye" things in the other rooms so I can change the channel.

I am totally rubbish when it comes to anything like this so I would much rather have an expert do it!
I was wondering if having the signal split so many times would affect the quality of the picture? Would I need to get some sort of booster or amplifier or something? I may be talking nonsense here, I have no idea about this kind of thing!

I rang a place called Finlay Communications and they put me in touch with a lad called Paul but twice he was supposed to come out and twice he didn't turn up. He quoted me €195 to do the job.

As I didn't have a clue where else to go I tried Clane Cable again and found the chap rude and abrupt and he said that for the materials alone it would cost €200 and probably more. Who knows what the total could come to with labour...

So I was wondering if anybody might know of somewhere round Kildare (I am in Allenwood) that would do it that was reliable and honest? I have no idea what it should cost but money isn't the problem, more that I don't want to be ripped off.

Any kind of help at all would be absolutely brilliant.

    Thanks a million,

    Steve.

Hi Steve, to use tv links you need a sky compatible amplifier which is not too expensive so its mainly labour and cable you are paying for . You might try Karl @ KGN Ph:01 8527818
