Cycling From Ashbourne to Blanchardstown

    Friends;


    Does anyone do this Cycling Daily?? i.e. cycling to work from Ashbourne to Blanchardstown???

    How is it?? Which way do u take usually?? how much time would it take??What kind of bike & Accessories needed for this kind of Cycling?

    It seems to be about 11miles. That's not a trivial distance.
    I average 15mph on my commute to work - stopping at traffic lights keeps it down. You would probably have less lights to deal with.

    I would look at the old N2 and turning right toward Hollystown. I've done the latter part at weekends. The road is decent enough, though there is a short bone-shaking stretch between Hollystown and Tryellstown.

    A good hybrid bike with skinny tyres would make the trip faster. I recommend a shower at either end.

    Depending on how fit you are it could take 50-60 minutes (including traffic lights). You will get fitter and faster.

    Minimum Gear - helmet, reflective gear and lights; pump, spare tube and tyre levers.
    Useful gear: gloves, windproof jacket.
