This is probably a stupid question to most ,but I've read through previous threads and looked on sky's website . I'm not sure what you get with sky hd ?

You buy the box for 450 ,pay for installation ,pay a monthly subscription.

What stations do you get with hd ? ,how much ?

    BBC HD (Other Channels)
    Sky One HD
    Sky Arts HD
    Discovery HD
    National Geographic HD
    Sky Movies HD1
    Sky Movies HD2
    Sky Sports HD1
    Sky Sports HD2
    History Channel HD

These channels are dependant on what your subscription package is eg. if you don't subscribe to Sky Sports, you won't get Sky Sports HD1 or HD2.

BBC HD is FTA, so you'd get it regardless, but needs to be manually tuned in.

There are also two Pay-Per-View channels: Sky Box Office HD1 and HD2.

If youve been a sky customer for a while , you could get the box for a lot less , something like 299 , but I think thats a kind of invitation only thing , they have to contact you about it as opposed to the other way round.

Thanks for the replies ,I personally have never had satelite before.
I don't view a lot of tv ,but after seeing the quality of HD ,it's made viewing far more appealing .

If I was to go for the above package ,whats the rent a month for that ?

Do you HAVE to buy the sky decoder box?, there are other boxes that will happily use the card just fine.

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/
