Looking to book a decent hotel in LA in January for 2 nights. Have trawled the internets for best prices and 1800hotels.ie is giving way better quotes than the usual expedia tripadvisor etc.
The price I'm getting from 1800 is about 170EUR, other sites are 250EUR+ for the 2 nights stay.

Just wanted to check ppls experiences with them, make sure they were ok.

A few lads at work have used them for hotels in london, Rome and Paris and had no problems.

About 3 years ago we used to get a daily fax from them advertising hotels and villas, so I rang them looking for a villa in France for 2 weeks, I got a promise of a ring back and to this day they haven't rang me back.

This is probably a once off but it certainly put me off them.

I have used them before, got a great price for a New York hotel. No problems whatsoever.

I have used them a few times myself and find them very good, never had a problem with them and they were always cheap compared to other sites I checked.

I have used them and they are fine but shop around. I usually also check hotels.com, lastminute.com and a few others I can't remember because I marinated my brain in alcohol last night and killed the relevant braincells !!

I have booked with them a couple of times and my dad has booked loads of hotels with them.

I remember my dad paid for one hotel by cheque which he dropped into them in Clontarf. I think he paid by cheque so as to avoid the credit card fee!

Thanks for the replies everyone. The deal was about 60% of other prices for the couple of hotels I was looking at in LA, so I was just a little curious why so cheap.
