    Anyone else interested in this?

The Eye of Judgment is out tomorrow here, retailing for a slightly off-putting 99 euros. This is what you get for that:

i.e. you get the Playstation Eye camera, the game, a 3x3 square mat, the stand for the camera, a starter pack, and a booster pack.

If you haven't heard about it, it's basically a card battle game, but leverages augmented reality. You can play alone against the computer, against another player, or online against others with ranked or custom matches.

Despite the price, I'm pretty interested, just because it's something different and I love eyetoy stuff. I'm not really into card games, but it might be fun :p It's been getting good reviews too (average score of 81% on gamerankings).

    Some pics for good measure:

I'll add impressions once I get it.

i was on the verge of buying yesterday. the price doesn't bother me because of what you're getting, and the fact that it's time halo3 got traded in before it devalues too much (if xbl needs me i can buy it traded dirt cheap).

i just don't know if i'll play it that much... but eyecreate looks great!

    Was it out somewhere?

I was thinking of going to Harvey Norman this evening since they often put stuff out on Thursdays..

I was reading about Eyecreate, but it sounds very limited I think..although it is free I guess.

There's a couple of other eyetoy games that are supposed to be coming out on the store too, maybe today/tomorrow.

It's a very interesting concept but seems nerdier than a sci-fi convention. Coupled with the price I'll be avoiding it unless it starts getting stellar reviews.

according to metacritic, it's not doing too bad at all for the type of game it is (and the cost of it).

€110 in GAME, bloody rip-off merchants. It's a terrible price to be honest, even at the RRP of €99. For €60 I'd be willing to take on a chance on what is something new and original but at that price, it's out of the question - especially when you consider you'll have to spend even more to buy the cards that will be a necesecity.

for €99 you get the eyetoy (which will be used in other games, and afaik can be used as a mic in warhawk et al), a special stand for it, the playing mat and cards. then you get a game.

the game alone would cost €75, and the camera/mic would cost €50. i'd say it's a pretty good deal

You could get the gam for 50 or less stingers online if it didn't come in such a large box. Not interested in an eyetoy and mic at all. Rip-off for me as well. I'll be getting Metroid Prime 3 instead tomorrow.

Friend got it on wednesday morning in Smyths for €80 with Loyalty Card. Haven't heard from him since so I assume its good. lol

If the Irish price is a big stumbling block, you could always import from the states - 70 dollars there, as far as I know. But they don't get as nice a box ;)

I think I'll be getting this and PES tomorrow though.

    http://kotaku.com/gaming/oops/eye-of-judgment-cards-copyable-314899.php

Looks like the cards are easily copied and faked from the cheapest of home printers. This could really destroy the game's community before it even gets started.

    anywhere selling the cards separately?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,480 ✭✭✭projectmayhem

has anyone got it yet? what's it like? worthwhile purchase?

also has anyone got it and tried the PSN games for it. they look interesting... and are only about €5 each

I got it, only played a few games against the computer, but found it great fun.

Want to assemble two decks so I can play two player.

this looks very interesting and since it has the camera included seems to be well worth €80 with the smyths card , i think i'll pick this up.

I got Aqua Vita..a bit rubbish really. I may try Trials of Topoq depending on whether I can get any reviews or impressions.

Eye of Judgement is good fun though, played some matches over the weekend. Wondering if any place local will be stocking booster packs?

Also, Harvey Norman has it for 99, as opposed to Game's 110 and HMV's 115! The disparity in games pricing is pretty crazy. And the thing is, no one store is ever consistently more expensive than the others. For example, while HMV was more expensive for Eye of Judgement, it was less expensive than Game for Pro Evo. So you really have to look around a good bit

Card games like this work out to be a very expensive hobby. Most card games like this have a release schedule of a new set every 2-4 months (especially Wizards of the Coast, the makers of the card game), so expect to fork out about a grand a year to get the cards you need to be semi-competative.

    As I said, expensive hobby.

well aqua vita looks more like an interactive screensaver, rather then a real game. the other two games on PSN look interesting enough.

as for the price, xtra-vision have it for €99 and are usually good for keeping the price down (and giving away stuff, like a football with pro evo/fifa, t-shirt with halo etc.)..

For anyone who is interested in getting more cards, GAME in Cork had some in this morning, presumably other GAMEs did as well. Cork only got in 6 or 7 boosters and one of each theme deck, there is only two theme decks left.

    BTW the game is awesome.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,140 ✭✭✭✭TheDoc

games completely flawed, cards are being scanned. Everyone already has the best decks around, so if you want to compete, you must download the scans, which is illegal and wrong in a collecting card game

    wont be touching it.

saw it in gamestop last night and was shocked:eek:99euro...plus i think you will need some booster pack for more cards in the future...unless they made it work for Magic the gathering cards...

come on,man,go play your wii instead!

I got it there on Monday, and I have to say I am impressed, I wasn't expecting that much from the game, but it is really enjoyable.
The only problem I am having is finding anywhere that sells the cards!!!
The only place I found so far is Game in Tallaght, but aparently some bloke went in on Tuesday and bought all of their stock, everywhere else I have tried I just get a blank look.

I actually got this as a late Christmas present from my girlfriend and having spent some time with I can safely say it's brilliant. It's hugely addictive and competitive, and costing me a small fortune on cards, but definately worth it. GAME have it for a much more reasonable €60 right now and I'd strongly recommend it to anyone with even a passing interest in strategy or cards games. The online aspect is ferociously competitive and cheating doesn't seem to be an issue at all from what I can tell.

I've pretty much completed my deck now, having all but cleared out GAME in Dawson Street of booster packs, but now herself in getting into it and wants her own deck so if anyone knows anywhere that more booster packs are for sale I'd be grateful.

how much are the cards to buy?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

The Theme Decks are €12, while the booster packs are €4.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,661 ✭✭✭✭Helix

and how many do you need to have them all?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

Don't think it's realistic to get them all really and to be honest, you don't need them. I have the starter deck and booster deck that come with the game (which are actually enough in themsevles), I then bought a Biolith Theme decks and seven booster packs and now I have a deck that can hold it's own against pretty much anyone.

and do you need the camera thing for it?

yep! its really anoying when your trying to set it up, but its worth it!:D
