I am looking for a mouse or some sort of remote control for doing powerpoint presentations from a laptop , so that i dont have to be standing beside the laptop all the time to move on the display.

I would probably be standing about 5 to 10 m range away from the laptop - would a wireless mouse have that much range or would i be better off getting a bluetooth mouse?

If you got a Sony Ericsson mobile phone then it comes with bluetooth remote control app for computers. It's cool.

Bluetooth and Wireless operate on the same radio frequency. So nothing between them there. The bluetooth standard though may be better at handling when the signal is of lower quality. Bog standard wireless devices can implement any kind of error / signal loss handling that they want so some manufacturers will be good at this and other bad.

So would recommend bluetooth over wireless. Logitech make quality devices.

I used the logitech wireless presentation device. It was great.

Am using this ( http://www.amazon.com/Kensington-33062-Wireless-Presentation-Control/dp/B0000DBLMB) now. Havent tested the maximum range yet but my room is about 150m2 and it works anywhere here. It has a handy pointing laser too. It works by sending signals to a small usb receiver. Makes giving presentations that bit easier!

Oh and it also scrolls up and down webpages etc. Definitely recommend these.
