To cut to the point basically i've messed up big time with my registration. Thaught i was registered put i wasn't. Tried to beg and plead but couldnt even get a reply back from the orginisers. I've been training for this run since March and as its a big goal for me i would LOVE to run it.

What im wondering so is is it possible to run the marathon without being registered? If not would it be possible to use someone else's registration that wont be being used? And if so....does anyone know of such a spare registration? Im not looking to duck out of the regisatration fee, its been a genuine but very stupid mistake. If anyone could help in the slightest u'd make my weekend.

    Cheers!!

    Hiya

what you can do is to post a request on this forum, to swap number with another guy, as there is always about 10% who will not show up !

You can post on runireland.com too maybe someone will reply.

I won't advise this but people sometimes turn up the night before or on teh day and ask people around.... you are taking a chance.

Regarding taking part without registration, it could be a problem regarding insurance and safety for you and other participant, if you fall and someone fall over you and hurt themsleves, Is that the race organiser liability .....

I hope you will be able to find a solution.

Seb, there is also an insurance issue with a swapped number. We all know i goes on but if the organisers say you can't transfer a number then we shouldn't be advocating it here.
Can I transfer my number if I can't run?Sorry, under no circumstances can you transfer your number to someone else if you can't run.
An alternative approach is to talk to the organisers at the registration in the RDS. I know they can officially let people in at the last minute. I imagine it would help if you can demonstrate that you are an experienced runner rather than someone who was at the Jazz festival and got the idea that a marathon sounded like fun!

    Hi,
I hope they can sort you out. Whatever you do DO NOT run without a no. I witnessed, one year, a guy without a no. being prevented from entering the last few hundred metres of the race. Can't imagine having run so far, being so near to the end for it to end in tears.
    Regards,
