    Hey, I'm wondering if anyone could give me some advice.
    I would like to extend the range of our existing netopia 2247nwg router(eircom) and have found that a repeater is what i should be looking for (btw is a repeater also called a WDS?). What i would like to know is by how much a repeater like this one;
    http://www.expansys.ie/d.aspx?i=106490
    will extend the range to (i want it to cover the back garden). Is it compatible with my eircom router and is it easy to set up? I have another eircom router spare(3347nwg) but i don't think that can be used as a repeater?
    Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Surely someone on boards has tried to extend their wireless network range at one point? i've tried dearching the forums but there are no relevant results.

    it surely works. there should be a repeater mode in ap config. but u d better make sure there is at least 50% coverage overlap when u extend ur wireless network for the best perfomance.

    the ssids of ur router and repeater should be the same.

    Thanks a million, but are you talking about the repeater i linked to or the spare router i have?
    Edit; nevermind i realised your last sentence clears that up
