My 12 year old son has been asking for a drumkit. He is quite musical and plays some instruments already. Could anyone recommend a good drumkit for him or whether we should go electronic or acoustic ?

If you're looking for a cheap and cheerful starter set then go for somthing like this:

On the subject of Electric vs Acoustic, the electric kit will give you the option of being quiet by using headphones but they just don't have the same feel as an acoustic kit.
