question about Sky +.

    Hi,
I have wanted Sky+ for a while now but there is one problem. We have NTL in the sitting room and NTL broadband attached to it. Every night my father insists on unplugging it all because otherwise "You'll be up on the internet all night". He is a bit of a control freak and doesn't understand that I will be up til the same time whether the internet is on or not.
Anyway I want to get Sky + so I can watch the music stations. I know it is attached to the phone line. If my father decided to unplug the phone would this stop my Sky + working? I read on here that you can now pay extra if you don't have a phone line but does this also apply if you have a phone line but just don't want to attach Sky + to it? My father is a bit of a control freak in general, I set stuff to record on the DVD recorder overnight and he insists on unplugging the DVD recorder so I can't record anything.
PS in case anyone thinks I'm a child, I'm 21, my father is just strange.

Take a look at the sky no phone line thread

    1. They plug in the phoneline to install the box - once they've gone you can unplug it, it won't stop it working. Sky may send you a letter, but if you don't have multiroom they probably won't bother.

    2. It's time to move out.
