Handicap calculator

    Hey guys,
I'm not a member anywhere, and as such don't have an official handicap. I usually shoot around 90, but with a few terrible holes. Played 9 holes yesterday afternoon and got 44 (+9). This included 4 pars, 3 bogeys, 1 double bogey and 1 quadruple bogey .
This would be fairly typical of my play over 18 holes. The thing that worries me is that my official handicap would not take the +4 holes into account, and although I usually shoot 16-18 over, my handicap could be as low as 12.
    Is this true?
Also, is there a handicap calculator on the net, where you can input your scores and indexes, and get a handicap estimate?
    Cheers

Theory is that since you can make 4 pars and 3 bogeys, you won't always make those +4's I guess. Usually you hand in 3 cards and the best one is used to calculate the handicap, with the crazy scores being adjusted down to (net?) double bogeys.
Like I said on here before, if you had 17 pars and then a 10 on the par 4 18th hole, do you think your handicap should be 6?

I was thinking about getting this software for our golf society handicap committee . The Demo version is free and works for a limited number of players. (5) I think !
