That's great. I'm really looking forward to the new series too.

Am I right in thinking that they've moved their practice to LA? I seem to remember something like that happening at the end of the last series.

Yeah season 5 is LA set and has more episodes I think!

Nip/Tuck finally returned last night(it's almost 11 months since season 4 ended!). The first episode was great. No Julia + no Matt + No Kimber = Automatically good episode. :D It was all Mcnamara/Troy goodness. They'll be back next week no doubt, as their names are still in the opening credits. They better get some meaningfull storylines this season. No idea how they'll be worked into the plot now that Sean and Christian live in Hollywood, though.

I'm also not sure how this show is gonna survive a 22 episode season for the first time. It always dips in quality around half way through every season and now with 8 extra episodes to contend with, I'm not sure how it's gonna cope.

is this not the final season though? I got the impression that the order was bulked up instead of doing two 13 episode seasons.. maybe that's just me.

watched season 5 opener and its another one of those season openers that you are like...ooo this is gonna be fun/good

Christian looks as hot as ever! :P

Seen an interview with Julian McMahon and there is going to be one more season after this at the most. Ryan Murphy signed up at the end of season 4 for 2 more seasons but I reckon they will see how this season goes and see!

I never want it to end but I dont want it to fade and get worse just to keep it going. I dont think they will let it go for too much longer!

im so happy to have it back!

So pleased it's coming to Irish tv that quick, I thought I would still be waiting in January. I love the show and have been trying my best to avoid all the spoilers on the internet over the Summer.

22 episodes seems a bit long of a run hope they can keep up the quality in the mid season where many series tend to dip in quality and have "filler" episodes to pad out the season (like Lost!)

Can't believe TG4 have it on so soon after America. The episode they're showing right now was only on about 10 days ago.:D How did they swing this one?

Prison Break is only 3 days behind! It's great to see that shows are getting over here more quickly.

Good opener and it's already distinguishing itself as different to the previous season. The "Hearts'n'Scalpels" stuff was funny and they spelt Aidan right on it! All the guest stars worked well and I liked the hint of things to come.
Nice to see Sean get the claim and the girls for once as well.

I agree it was a good season opener. I hope the rest of the season will be of the same quality. Also nice to have it so soon and before Sky One.

I think its FX that have the UK rights to season 5 and they have no plans to show it until next year, its great to see TG4 continue to give the show a decent slot - Sky One buried the last few episodes of season 4 last year.

can someone tell me what happened in the last minute or so of the first episode - my sky+ recording ended around the time Christian was dialing the phone to us weekly...

    Bit of a Spoiler....

Christian called Us Weekly and said "Guess who just got work done .. Carly Summers. It doesn't matter who i am but the surgeon that worked on her was Christian Troy.

What you need to do with your sky+ is go to settings and add 10 mins to the end of recording to avoid missing the endings of stuff in the future - always happens with me on RTE and TG4.

Thank god for that. I lost TG4 reception half way though the episode. RTE and TV3 still worked fine though, did anyone else have that problem?

This completely passed under my radar. Was just having dinner yesterday listening to the radio when they said it was back on TG4. Will have to track down that first episode but pretty much got the gist from the recap from last nights episode.

Felt that last season really lost it's way and am truly hoping that this season gets things back on track. So far so good!

Anyone know has Nip/Tuck been cancelled because it was suddenly replaced by Without a Trace??

Writers Strike. They ran out of episodes.

So what did everyone think of the series as a whole. It got a bit sick there at the end with Matt

I expect twisted and sick from "Nip/Tuck" so I was mostly happy :)
I think this season was an improvement on a pretty lacklustre fourth season. There were some nice elements allowed by the move to LA. The drama-within-a-drama "Hearts'n'Scalpels" got a bit too much exposure (even if it was quite funny) but, on the other hand, it led us to Colleen who will ensure I never look at one of those teddy bear stuffing machines in the same light again.

Matt was a wonderful screw-up again and Kimber is always fun.
I wasn't so mad on the whole Julia "lesbian" thing suddenly, although it was at least made clear for what it was. I also think her relationship with Troy wasn't handled too well - it was too much of "hot"/"cold" each week and their true feelings for one another were not made clear enough. The final end to her arc is a little bit too ridiculous, but we'll see how it plays out in the next (and final) season.

tell me that episode 14 wasn't the last episode of the season? tell me they are going to do a lost and film a few more episodes which will screen in the coming weeks?
Overall very happy with season 5, was a bit worried about the LA move, but its proved to be a good move as its provided some new situations and characters to the show!
I really hate Julia's girlfriends daughter, nasty piece of work, reminds me of an evil "I should be so Lucky" Kylie :)
