Quick question regarding Nikon Sb600 flask gun..
Is it the best option for a d200 camera ? and can they be used for off camera slave work ?

Up to a point, I think. I have one on a D200. It can be triggered wirelessly to fire using the D200's built in flash and the built in one can be set to either appear in the picture or not, as you want.

I haven't used it in wired mode, using one of those coiled cables.

sb800 is slightly better but the main difference is that the sb800 can be used to control other flashes, on cameras like the d50 where there is no feature forthis , the sb 800 is a better option, the d200/d70 has this feature built in

are we saying here that both the sb600 and sb800 can be used remotely, as in stick them into the image and they will fire as automated slave flashes ?

I just bought 2 sb600 so here hoping they work as slaves.

Sunny, I seem to remember from reading through the SB600 manual, that while it can be used remotely, it is limited in what it can do when there are several flashes. The SB800 can do anything you want as it's the top pro-spec, AFAIK. Mind you, I'd say you could use 2 SB600's remotely (wirelessly) both controlled by the D200's built in flash.
