    Hi all,

    First time marathon attempter here!

What should I est the night before and the morning of the marathon?

Would getting a feed of rice and chicken into me at about 6.30am be okay or should I go for something less substantial?

    Hi,

A high carb dinner the night before early in the evening is what you want. A spaghetti bolognese or something would be ideal. The morning itself, everyone is different, but what has worked for me is a cereal, usually porridge, 3 hours beforehand with some fruit juice, tea and toast.... Other that that its a case of keeping hydrated, but not to overdrink - small sips from an hour beforehand it at all - you don't want to start the race feeling bloated or having to dash to the loo within the first mile!

    Regards,

    SJ

    Cheers mate.

Not sure how long before the race I should be eating but 3 hours seems to be what a lot of folks are saying.
