    Hi

Im going to Edinburgh/Glasgow Jan 2008 and was wondering would i be better off going to a local bricks and mortar travel agent down the street or book online?

I want a luxury hotel/flights/car etc so would i be better off sourcing these myself or getting an agent to do the whole lot?

The hotel would be my main concern, i have two in mind but i would want it to be top class (honeymoon) so would a travel agent be able to get a better rate/room? Or would i be better off ringing the hotel direct?

if not can anyone recommended a good site for booking online

    Any ideas?

In my own experience, you're as well to contact the Hotel directly.

I did this for my Honeymoon (stayed in the best suite in the Crowne Plaza at Dublin Airport en route to Cuba) and got a good rate and the manager gave us a bottle of Champagne when we got to our room.

I don't know if any airline from Ireland offers business/first class to Scotland, so you might as well book that online and you're always likely to get a good deal from most car hire firms online.

Any travel agent will just get you the bare minimum and add their cut on top.

If you can, you should ALWAYS cut out the middle man.
