Has anyone had an ebay item ship from the UK in the last 2 weeks and have it arrive by normal post? I'm waiting on a small item (Thankfully small monetary value also) for 2 weeks with no sign, and the seller is unusually slow at communicating. Reassurance on the back of a postcard ...

Had two standard air mail arrive in a week. One registered yesterday that posted on Friday and a standard airmail from Play.com posted last Monday arrived yesterday too.

Poor communication from the seller is never a good sign.

I also had a small package from a UK seller, posted Friday and was waiting for me when I got home yesterday.

Had a core2duo processor posted to me at the start of last week, still no sign. Seller has reassured me that it has been posted etc

I had two parcels sent frm jersey last week that arrived yesterday. I know jersey is seperate from the UK but they did travel through the UK without any delays.

Ordered 7 CDs from play.com back in july, and 6 arrived a few days later. I forgot that I had actually ordered 7, and since then had bought a few CDs from cduniverse, including the CD that I had originally not received from play.com. But just last Friday, I got an email from play.com, apologising for not sending the CD, due to the royal mail strikes, and it is now on the way. D'oh!

Also bought from a UK Ebay seller recently. Took just over a week to get a small package through the dispute.

Things seem to be starting to filter through - I had three packages arrive yesterday in one go, all from different sellers.

Book, new sky remote and a CD all took 2-3 weeks to get here (posted at height of strike)...I wouldn't really mind but needlessly paying Consignia/Royal Mail's 1st class fees for pony express turn around time is f*cking old.

Unfortunately 2 weeks is not unusual for post from the UK. It varies between 3 days and 2 weeks.

From my ebay experience stuff seems to leave Ireland immediately but it does seem like the Royal mail wait until they fill a massive container before they send it over here ;)

All my UK post usually takes about 3 days (1st class) or 5 days (2nd class)
On the occasion where I've paid for next-day or registered, the bottle neck is An Post regional sort offices as far as I can see....item is usually in Ireland within 12 hrs of dispatch (tracking)....yet takes upwards of 36 hrs to do the final few miles to my doormat
