Here's a brief account fo the process:

    1. Apply via your local Garda station for a dealers license. The form can be downloaded in PDF format from the DOJ website

    2. You will get a visit from your CPO to whom you will inform on your proposed security arrangements, the type / quantity of firearms you will be dealing with etc.

    3. The CPO makes a report which goes back to your district Super who then passes this (assuming it is approved at this level) to the DOJ.

    4. you receive a letter from the DOJ telling you that pending your completion of works etc to the satisfaction of the CPO that you will be added to the registration of RFD's.

    5. There are some other forms you need to complete that the DOJ will supply - mainly got to do with fire safety, addition of named premises to list etc.

Usually takes 3 months, but can take longer. Best taking to dealers in your area to get a better idea
