Some of you may remember Karl Hungus' thread on Bogner and Line 6 joining forces. Well their illegitimate child is here....

    The Line 6 Spider Valve

Tube technology provided by Bogner and modelling technology provided by Line 6.

There are video's on L6's website, and I have to say, it sounds very nice! :)

Im not going on clips or word of the mouth untill I actually try one.

People who have played it said it was very dissapointing and nowhere worth the price and then in L6's clips it sounds nice!!

    So Im gonna wait.

**Also I think the overdrive sounds horrible in that clip. clean, not so bad!

Yeah well I was mainly going on the clean tones. I've got a thing for lush clean sounds :)

A guy on youtube did some clips, someone on there said it sounds like a Crate Blue Voodoo hotrodded... I don't think thats a good thing. lol

I've heard good things about them so far.

It's not something I'm going to run out and buy personally, but it might be an excellent investment for someone looking for a small Tube Amp. Probably a hell of a lot cheaper than running a Pod through a tube power section, so it's definitely got a market there, but it's a pity it's only the Spider technology. A tubed up Vetta would've been so much cooler.

They're in thomann already - e700 for the entry level 1x12 40watt combo.

Bit too close to real valve amps for my liking, especially 2nd hand ones. The only real advantage it has over something like an entry level valve amp such as the ENGL thunder is that it packs a good few different footswitchable sounds. Apart from that, you've still got the usual 'disadvantages' of valve amps - heavy, re-valving, biasing, needs cranking to bring all the freq out etc.

Depends what you're looking for in an amp i guess.
