Hey just, just looking for recommendations for accomodation in Cape Town. Budget is anywhere up to 100 euro a night. Not looking for backpacker accomodation more along the lines of hotel/guest houses/b&b's.

Fountains Hotel is really good. Its sort of in the business district of the city but you can easily stroll to most city centre locations plus there is ALWAYS a taxi sitting outside. The V&A waterfront is walking distance from the hotel, they can organise most things for you, tours to Stellenbosch etc, but if ur going to rent a car do it yourself it's cheaper. Europcar or some of them will do..
I only stayed in the hotel for a week cause i don't like staying in hotels cause you really only have your room and everything else is communal.
I rented a villa in a place called Atlantic Beach Golf Course / Village. I can't remember the cost cause it was the g/f who looked after it. You would need a car to stay there as it's about 20mins out of the city but it's class. Beach 5 mins away, shops 2 mins and actually on golf course. Only a short distance from Century City as well, it's a huge shopping complex. Some of the places outside the city are great to stay in but again you would need a car. Areas like Melkbossstrand or Bloubergstrand.
Don't stay in Long st if your not a backpacker, but the bars there are pretty good at night..

I too stayed in the Fountains Hotel - it's just ok. Try and get an apartment there, as they are more spacious. And watch out for those dodgy lifts.

If you are travelling to SA on the Slattery's charter flight - be warned it is very very cramped, and prone to delays ( I endured a 12 hr delay ex Dub). Get some sleeping tablets from your doctor - they help!;)
