Outlet M1330- short of travel remote, slipcase and earbuds. Do i have case?

Just wanna see what you guys think about this scenario before i call dell.

From lookin on the net an XPS m1330 ordered today comes with a dell travel remote that goes in the express card slot, small slip case (kinda basic carry case with no strap)and creative earphones as STANDARD. You can see all thses on the net in those reviews where they even cover the unpacking.

I bought a Dell Outlet refurbished m1330 at a price that wasn't a million miles away from the retail as i needed it quick and the delays on the m1330 was puttin me off. The item came minus the travel remote, slip case and earphones now i don't mind the earphones but the slip case and remote are usefull.

    The Dell Outlet blurb states:
All products have been tested and repackaged to Dell factory standards and come with a full Service Pack. High demand - so start shopping NOW - to get the system that's right for YOU!"

My arguement would be a system if refurbished to the level Dell claims, should be nearly indistingushable from a new system leaving the factory

    would you agree??????

    do i have a case??

Tough one to call really, try getting in contact with them even via the online chat support, I can't see them bending over backwards to help you though. Still.. worth chancing your arm, you've got nothing to loose!

yeah i know what your sayin but you know you expect the same bits as everyone else just not "brand new" of the factory line.

its this bit i'm going to push "tested and repackaged to Dell factory standards and come with a full Service Pack"

The current dell factory standard is with remote and slip case so you know i'll give it a bash........

    Any other opinions???????

are the parts listed on the packing slip or the quote that you received from dell?

no parts listed there i mean on the outlet store when you click on the particular laptop you get a broad outline of the spec and as many here have discovered sometimes you get more than listed i unfortuanalty got less than i bargained for.

For example it didn't list that the laptop had wifi but obviously wifi comes as standard as a travel remote control comes as standard, if you get my drift

For example on the outlet this is an example of the spec they give you:
    Base: XPS M1330 CORE 2 DUO T7100 1.80GHz

    CD/ RW: 8xDVD+/-RW Slim Slot-Load Drive

Hard Disk Drive: 160GB (5,400 rpm) Sata Hard Drive

MISC: English/Irish Ship Accessories - Power Cord

MISC: Crimson Red 0.3 MP Camera for White-LED

    MISC: Primary 6-cell 56WHr Li-Ion Battery

    MISC: UK/Ire - Internal Keyboard

    Memory: 2048MB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM (2x1024)

NoteBook Screen: 13.3 WXGA (1280x800) White-LED Display TrueLife?

Operating System: English - Vista Home Premium

So you know strictly speaking they really don't fill you with info and to be honest i really did expect the slip case and remote to be included the same way you would expect the system software and manual to be included. Y'know seen as they refurb it to "Dell Factory Standard"

Outlet systems are refurbed to their original/new condition and not to current specs. Standard and optional spec change all the time. The machine you got could have been ordered when these items were optional extras and not ordered by the original purchaser.
Enter the srevice tag here: http://support.euro.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=ie&cs=iedhs1&l=en&s=dhs
You should be able to see when it was originally shipped and it's original configuration.
Still worth a phonecall or email though.

Well i recieved my new m1330 today from dell. On the order it didnt state anything about my remote or earphones on it but still got them. Did mention the bag but its still wasn't an optional extra. But these items are shown in there video advert on there site as been included as standard and to my understanding have never been optional extras.

had a chat with outlet sales where the guy who originally put through my order stonewalled me(i won't name and shame but i'll hang up on him next time i try puttin an outlet order through). He kindly emailed the broad outline spec that was on the website and said thats all i should expect and anything else is a bonus.

I basically said thats a bit of joke as lets say no five in one memory card reader is listed in the specs(but comes a standard on the m1330) should i then expect or be satisfied when a m1330 comes with the card reader ripped out. He was adament that i had no right to the as standard remote.

Anyway decided to go straight to XPS support who i must say deserve credit for their customer service he went of and researched everything on the Dell website and found it hard as no remote comes up as spec out on m1330 but then googled some stuff said yeah he reckons it should have come with the remote

So its gettin sent out friday, result!

So did you end up getting your remote? I'm in a similar situation - have the remote, but no sleeve or headphones.

Having the same problem myself, I ordered 2 a few weeks ago and just after getting around to open the boxes today. One has the entire package, the other XPS is missing the remote, the sleeve and the little folder.

I called Dell and after being to customer care - tech support - XPS support and back to customer care, they've said they'll send out the remote and a sleeve once they've discovered what an XPS sleeve is. I get the feeling I'll be returning to this in the New Year.

Its not a very big deal, I was disappointed to find my own package a little light while my girlfriends turns out perfect and a little cheaper to boot!

Did you try filling out the online form here? It avoids dealing with customer support over the phone (which can be absolute torture) and it worked for me pretty fast.
