I'm liking it a lot. Better than her first album which was rather good too. It should be getting decent radio airplay, "Reuben" is a very strong single.

I loved Something Ilk (the first album) but this is a very strong improvement! Going to be a close runner for Choice Music prise for sure!

According to her website the title comes from her wiping her nose on her sleeve when she was a kid!

That song Reuben is a direct rip of "His Latest Flame" by Elvis.

no it's not; it, ahem, borrows the rhythm track, i'll grant you, but then *that's* a rip of 'Not Fade Away' by buddy holly, and pretty much any Bo diddley track.

there's nothing wrong with that, mind; if you're gonna 'borrow', then borrow something decent!

Yes me too, I liked the first one a lot even though it was a bit odd in places but it rocked.

I bought the album after hearing Reuben on the radio and after seeing a couple of suggestions for it to be Album Of The Week. Listened to it in full once and wasn't that impressed tbh.
Opening track is fantastic, then Reuben and after that I just got bored. Never got round to listening to it again but it just never inspired me to do so.
I always judge a new album on whether I want to put it back on after listening to it but I just couldn't do it with this one. Maybe I wasn't really in the humour to listen it so I must give it another go....

I broke and bought it a lunch time - last one in the shop, almost as if it was meant to be. First listen I was disappointed. I thought her live performance didn't transfer across but then I listened again, and again, and again and now I'm hooked. What a voice. Some beautiful songs - one or 2 weaker songs on it I'll grant you but they are by no means bad and the album as a whole is very strong.

Album of the year? Too early to tell.

I really enjoyed Rilo Kiley and it is still one of the albums I reach for in the car. Time will tell with this one.
