    Howdy,

I'm heading for Thailand at Christmas and just wondering the situation with getting jabs?
I was there on the way to Australia in Summer 2000 and got a full set of jabs before I went, and a mate told me they last 10 years so I don't need any this time.
Does anybody know anything about this?
    Any details appreciated.

    Thanks,

    JC

Go see your GP or tropical medical centre. If you did not go back for the booster jab (they ask that you reatend about 6 months after your inital jab) then you are proabably not protected. the Hep A jab lasts a yr or so. If you get the booster jab after the 6 months, it lasts for about 10 yrs. I'm no Doc but it runs something along those lines. I reattended about a yr and 6 months after my inital jabs and they still gave me the booster jab, they said it was ok - my gp said its recommended you reattend after 6 mths but the booster would still be affectivein my case!!
