I've bought tyres from Fitzpatricks on the New Road and found them ok, there's also Dom's Tyres (I think he's moved to Clonminam Industrial Estate). I think you're best to phone around with the sizes and get prices that way, there's huge variance based on brands etc.

Would highly recommend doms tyres, I nearly had a crap xmas a few years back when I had two blowouts due to a massive pothole in Portloaise. He saved the day on xmas eve!

Hannovers and Fitzpatricks on the new road are grand also

Do not go to the place beside the petrol garage down the road from fitzpatricks. Had serious issues with them before.

Id recommend Hanovers on the Timahoe road.

Hi sorry about posting on such an old thread, but I was wondering if anyone has better info on the best value tyres in the Portlaoise area?

Old thread I know, but this might be of interest to someone. I got 4 Bridgestone Turanza ER300 205/55/R16s fitted today in Fitzpatricks for €390, including balancing and tracking. The tyres alone are just shy of €90 each on eire tyres, so I think this was a good deal.
