I remember this received tons of publicity when Twin Peaks was on (1990/91). I was too young to read it though. Apparently it was fairly explicit stuff. Did anyone here read it?

It's online; read it and find out.

    heh:

    "Dear Diary, September 9, 1984

I have discovered something about myself. Do you remember the night I told you I woke up with that wonderful feeling? Well! There is a special place on my body that lets me feel that as often as I like. A warm, wonderful place where everything else melts away and I am free to just feel good. My little secret red button. This is all mine. Finally something that will take me away along with my fantasies. I can do it in my bed, very softly with my fingertip, which is so sweet. I can do it in the bathtub with the water as it pours out of the faucet. (I never knew a bath could be so enjoyable!) Or in the shower, with a small stream of water coming from above. I move and jump and sometimes have to grab a pillow and put it over my head so that it is dark and no one can hear me making little noises. It is, after all, a secret, and whether this is right or wrong, I feel very good when it happens and no one need ever know, except you, dear Diary.
It has been quite a week with my period coming and all, and now this sweet-as-honey discovery. Now I am beginning to feel like a woman, and someday very soon, perhaps I will share this with someone special.
Good night! Good night! Good night!

    Laura

P.S. I hope in my heart that I am not doing something that is wrong by touching myself. I hope this is something all girls do, and that I won't be punished for it later. "

Ewww!!! Creepy! And David Lynch's daughter wrote it! Imagine writing that and your dad reading it. *Puke*

My dad would be horrified but then again he isn't David Lynch! This is probably a good thing for all concerned.

I googled Jennifer Lynch. When she was a kid she was in Eraserhead. When she grew up, she got to direct a weird film all of her own - Boxing Helena. A sort of twisted version of Misery but with more amputations. Must be fun in the Lynch's house

That reminds me the second series of TP was due out on DVD recently, must check it out. One of the best series. And then the not so exciting "Fire, Walk With Me" film.
TP the inspiration of many film/TV cliches.

Lots of series claimed to be as good but never lived up to expectations
    eg American Gothic (Gary Cole)

And oh Sherilyn Fenn, her in the box without limbs was also the minx with loads of limbs in TP tempting poor old Agent Cooper.

I remember watching Fire Walk With Me one Friday night back in 1995, somewhere between boring drama and softporn and made me realise that Laura Palmer wasn't the sweet innocent girl we all thought! Kyle McLaughlin wouldn't have been happy talking into his tape recorder!!

Yeah, she was depicted as the stereotypical wholesome prom/homecoming queen, but in reality she was doing lots of drugs and having lots of sex. That scene in the seedy strip club (with the great bluesy music playing)

I thought Fire Walk With Me was a brilliant film. Another Lynch classic!

That, in my opinion, is one of the greatest cinematic scenes in history....if you're talking about the scene in One-Eyed Jacks...i think it was called.

The guy who plays Bob is brilliant. He really freaks me out, and as it happens he was cast in the film purely by accident. He was working on the set and a reflection of his face in a mirror got caught in a scene Lynch was shooting. So taken by the image was Lynch, that he felt compelled to develop the Bob character.
