Ok just want to know is it fair that some players are never moved when a tables need to be balance up....

example was playin in the fitz yesterday - table upstairs had 6 - we had 8 - and next big blind was told to go up, but this person didn't go up and sent another person up instead... now i know some ppl can't go up the stairs, but i know from past tournament this person has been upstairs.... so is this fair...?

Is the best thing to do in this situation - keep both table downstairs...
I assume that this may happen a lot but first time i saw it...

This is one of the examples of doing something to keep some of the older customers happy and in general I have no problem with this. The Fitz has always had a policy of keeping a player downstairs if they are not in th best of health, and I know when I was on crutches a while back I was offered the same treatment too (although I refused). I think it would be a sad state of affairs if in regular tournaments (as opposed to big festival events etc unless in certain cases like Paddy H or Sean J for obvious reasons), people were put behind procedures. There are quite a few elderly people that play regularly in the Fitz games, and although a lot of them do go up the stairs from time to time, if they can be left downstairs by sending another willing person upstairs, I think they are right to do it.

This is also the case when they put someone into a feeder game downstairs rather than put them into the last feeder upstairs. Look after your regulars where you can as long as it doesn't affect things too much. These are cases where people should be left after I think.

I think thats fine. I was at a major event which shall remain nameless. it was held over four floors and a fine gentleman was asked to move from the ground floor to the top. He said he was just out of major surgery and found it hard to take the stairs and requested he be left there and the next player go up. They said no he had to go no questions. It was sick to watch so all the players at the table offered to carry stuff for him. :D

On another note the time taken to have the conversation was long enough for a new hand to begin which meant he was the big blind but they wouldnt budge. I have no problems in those circumstances allowing the next person to go as long as they're cool with it.

I agree totally with this, it also helps them to gang up on Rounders123.

He is a reknowned TD and grannybasher. Tried to rush a euthanasia bill through the dail but was tripped by Michael D Higgins. Also found asleep outside the office of Alone.org with petrol rags and empty bottles...(forgot the lighter no doubt)

I think we should let them stay downstairs without making an issue or making them feel bad about it. However its hard to believe they are fit enough to get to the venue but not fit enough to climb those stairs. I'll be a gentleman about it though by turning a blind eye:).

if you had two blind eyes, you could stay downstairs yourself...

I'd consider it a bad beat to get drawn on the downstairs table if they didn't mostly play bad.
