There's only one strip club called FYEO which is dead dear I gather, the main nightlife is either the Bigg Market (for cheap drinks and cheaper girls of the chav variety), the Quayside (for the more upmarket cheap tart) or the gay area (emmm).

Drink is dead cheap (you can get trebles for under £2 in some places). It's a bit of a tip in parts but has some nice bits too, never seen carting or the like here though, theyre trying to be all cultured and have opened new galleries etc now rather then the old stag doo image. But if you want to get pished and pull its a cheap place to do it.

    Drink

Newcastle is (in)famous for its culture of social drinking, and is a popular destination for hen and stag parties. The Bigg Market and the Quayside and now the Central Station area with its "Diamond Strip" of new upmarket bars, are the centres of nocturnal activity in Newcastle, though the city has a wealth of bars and pubs.

    Bigg Market

A no holds barred area where you will not find much in the way of culture, but you will find a lot in the way of drink. A selection of bars are as follows:

o Yell - Cheap drink, lots of stag/hen parties
    o Pig & Whistle
    o City Vaults
    o Kiss
    o Boom
    o Blackie Boy
    o Idols
    o Pop World
    o Rewind

    Central Station

There are many bars around this area, some of them include:

o North - situated in the stations old ticket office
o The Forth - fantastic bar on Pink Lane
o Head of Steam - opposite the station
o Tokyo - great roof terrace
o The Union Rooms - cheap
    o Clear
o The Telegraph - situated at the back of the station with a great roof terrace
    o Revolution - vodka bar
o Centurion - bar and restaurant based in the restored Victorian waiting room of the Central Station
    o O'Neil - irish pub

    Quayside

Again, packed full of bars, some of them are:

o The Crown Posada - dating from 1880 and well preserved, this is an unusually narrow pub with stained glass windows. This is one of the best places in central Newcastle to try 'real ales' from local breweries
o Bob Trollop - another very old pub in one of the oldest building in Newcastle, excellent vegetarian food.
    o Flynn's - very cheap trebles
    o The Akenside Traders
o The Cooperage - one of the oldest buildings in town, this 14th century timber-framed building is a lively pub on the quayside
o Stereo - great on Sundays
    o 38
    o Hoko-10 - Japanese influenced
o Pitcher & Piano - situated in a huge glass fronted building, great to watch the river

    Jesmond

Yet another popular drinking area for locals and students, some bars include:

    o Bar Bacca
    o Osbornes
    o Bar Blanc
    o Berlise
    o The Lonsdale
    o Mr Lynch
    o Bar Polo

    Centre for Life/Pink Triangle

Newcastle has a thriving gay scene. SO WE NEED TO STAY AWAY FROM THESE

    o Eclipse
    o Camp David
    o The Dog
    o Baron & Baroness
    o The End
    o The Loft
    o The Yard
    o Twist
    o The Other Rooms

    Other assorted bars

As stated before Newcastle is full of bars and pubs, a few others are:

o The Trent House - a 'soul bar' with a wide clientele who appreciate the free jukebox
o Popolo - a fairly new, stylish bar offering quality cocktails and continental beers
o The Hancock - student bar next to both universities
o Bacchus - popular with the after work crowd
o The Bar at the Brandling
    o Bar 55
    o The Bridge
o Luckies - another bar popular with students, near both universities

Newcastle is home to Newcastle Brown Ale, called by the locals Broon or 'Dog'. There are a significant number of local breweries producing real ale that is widely available and of good quality. Brewers to look out for include Mordue, Wylam and Big Lamp.
