    Yes.

You only get your first shot at each year free. If you repeat or transfer to another course after a year you will need to pay for your first year (or however many you have previously completed).

I believe you would still have to pay the whole years fee's even if you only completed half the year. I may be wrong tho.

You will need to apply though the Registry/DCU as its an internal transfer. I changed courses before and had to do this. You will need to talk to the Registry and the course heads of each course. Id recommend you go into the Registry and talk to somewhere there about it or even the DCU councellers.

talk to the register or head of your programme.... it may say you money if you drop out now... since you will be able to get a full time job for about 11 months, and also you may save 2/3K depending on how exactly it works for paying fees....

yea but if your receiving a grant and drop out... then you won't be there for when the second installment comes out and therefore you wouldn't get it....

Why not stick with the course?

I'm into the business side of things too. Currently in 4th year doing the Information Systems stream. It's the business orientated side of the course.

The Math and Programming I guess can be tough for some. I hated the Math. Still do. It's more the way it's thought which makes it very hard. But going over the papers at the MLC will definitely help you out. It's how most get a pass.

As for the programming. Well I failed the X-mas exam. And aced the summer exam. Some people find it hard to latch onto. Takes a while. But there might be a side to programming that you might love and have yet to experience. Also there is more to an IT career than just programming and math.

    I'm presuming this is relevant...

    In a DCU email:

    SECOND CHANCES

For anyone who’s not aware, this Friday 26th October is the last day for
undergrad students to withdraw from their course while still having the
opportunity to avail of free fees if they choose to return this year.
While we understand that some students make this decision, we don’t want
it to be because they're not informed enough about their course or just
    haven’t settled in yet.

With that in mind, Student Affairs have teamed up with ourselves and
different departments in the university to offer you information,
seminars and talks all this week to help you find out everything you
need to know to get on in your course and enjoy life on campus at the
same time. Everything from moodle to confidence-boosting will be covered.

Student Helpers will be based in The Hub all week so if you’re still a
bit confused by what’s going on in DCU just give them a shout and
they’ll help you out, and you can sign up for the any of the information
workshops at the same time. Please avail of this chance so you can make
    an informed decision.
