Thinking of the States for Paddy's Week

I am thinking of heading to the States for Paddy's week and was considering Boston for four nights and Chicago for four nights.

Which of the two cities would be better for the 17th or would I be better going to somewhere else, in the US, entirely. I've already been to NY and can't really go for longer than a a week.

Flights are looking good at €400 with Aer Lingus (as is the exchange rate) so I'd like to book soon. Any advice?

Well I spent Paddy's week this year with a mate in Chicago and had a ball. Started the day at 9am, couldn't get into the first pub, went to another, and did a bit of a pub crawl. They know how to go mad for it there, and you'll be welcome for being Irish. I'd say either Chicago or Boston would be great.

In Boston the parade is usually the Sunday nearest Patrick's day so youa re fine this year cos the 17th is a Sunday.
The parade is in South Boston which is a suburb close to the city centre and it is good fun, expect queues at the pubs to get in for most of the day.

My own reccommendadtion would be niether and instead go to Savahanna, Georgia, it has a great St. Patricks day festival, and it's shorts and tee shirst weather not -10 and snowing which you might get in Boston and Chicago.
