This has happened a couple of times so wondering if Google are doing this.

Latest example. Was looking for a place for holiday for next year. Picking a couple of places I used google to look for flights. That was a couple of days ago. Now in the last few days I've have had 4 emails to my inbox which are spam relating to holiday flights. Never visited any of them in my search. Not one was sent to the spam folder.

Had similar incident looking for a particular book.

I've also noticed that ebay mails bypass the spam filter. Even though I haven't signed up to ebay I get emails from ebay (not the phish ones). So much so that I had to create a rule to just have them auto-binned.

i've never had a problem with google spam mails. the filter seems to catch all quite nicely. maybe you've reproduced your email quite handily on a forum related to the topic and it's been picked up by the bots?

but then again, google stores more of a person's personal information than any state, employer or business... i wouldn't be surprised if they've finally started using this against us.

Google is evil. all large monopolies are.
