wow! more than twice what Ace is on! For someone that's not in the top 10 and have never beaten someone in the top 10 he's pulling a pretty penny. if you can get it though, why not!

I couldnt believe it when I saw it.

Silva on a 60 + 60 for the win vs Vera on 100 plus 100 if he won.
Its clear that fighting is only half of a fighters job, keeping a marketable profile is as important.Franklin/Silva may have had a slice of the PPV,but I doubt it.

No. 1 thing for Silva to do to increase earnings in 2008,learn english.

anthony just to clear any confusion, it is (was) on PPV in the states, Bravo have the contract with a one day delay and slightly edited show for the UK and irish market,
setanta normally show the PPV for the UFC's European events.

The thing with these payouts is that some guys signed new contracts more recently than others, and the most recently signed contracts will, generally speaking, be worth more. Franklin signed something like a nine fight contract a good while ago, which is why he's not earning as much as a guy like Vera, who got his contract within the last year

I think Anderson Silva's only got one or two fights left on his current contract, and I can easily see him getting a raise

The Money they get is Awful. Silva and Franklin are the top guys in that division with the UFC in a title bout. UFC apparently is selling as many PPVs as boxing cards, they should be paid as much as the boxers.

No wonder Randy walked away. I've read that Fedor got a $2 million dollar signing fee for M1, plus a Million per fight. Randy could easily top up his pension fund there.

Like Fozzy said though, that was Brandon Vera's first fight on a new contract whereas Anderson Silva and Rich Franklin are both working off contracts from before they were champions. In fact, Anderson's on excellent money considering he was never a champion in Pride and the UFC really stiffs unknown quantities sometimes. I'll be interested to see their pay when both of these guys re-sign, because they should both be out-earning Brandon Vera in fairness.

Oh and Randy said at his press conference that he earned $250,000 flat for the fights against Sylvia and Gonzaga but got roughly $500,000 from the pay per view earnings from the fight with Sylvia (he's due to get about the same from the fight with Gonzaga) and like $600,000 for Randy - Chuck III. On top of that he said he got one of those weird bonuses ($500,000) for the last fight with Liddell and the fight with Sylvia and one of his grievances apparently was that he didn't get one when he beat Gabe with a broken arm.
