    'Juno' Trailer

    This looks very good actually..

From Ivan Reitman (who most recently directed the fantastic 'Thank You For Smoking') comes a film which every 'Arrested Development' fan will refer to as the Bluth Family Reunion!

    Well.. not quite!

It does star both Jason Bateman (Michael) and Michael Cera (George Michael) from 'Arrested Development' though.

A absolutely stellar cast (JK Simmons, Alison Janney, Ellen Page, Michael Cera, Jason Bateman, Jennifer Garner, Rainn Wilson) in what looks like quite an engaging "dramedy", and love the Mott the Hoople song in the trailer.

No release planned as yet but rumours say not until March 2008 in US theatres.

Had my doubts when I first heard about this, but after watchng the trailer I'm swayed. It looks fantastic, the kind of feel good comedy, dram which doe'nt preach to the audiance.

Like you said the cast is phenemonal, though lets be honest the biggest selling point will be Michael Cera and Jason Bateman sharing a screen.

It's recieving a limited theatrical run in America starting the 14th of December. So fingers crossed we get it soon after.

Wow nice cast and cool trailer. Looks like it could be a decent, quirky comedy with an interesting take on teenage pregnancy (not exactly the most widely examined area).

If it avoids sentimentality that is...

Sorry to be pedantic but it's Jason Reitman, Ivan's son. Ivan Reitman hasn't really directed anything great since the sublime Ghostbusters in '84- although I hear 'Dave' with Kevin Kline is not bad.

That looks really good. Will be looking out for this. Cheers for the heads up on the trailer ...

Unfortunately I've read that they don't actually have any screen time together. Still one I'm looking forward to though...

Yeah.. i realised that soon after posting but forgot to go back and edit it.

Dave is brutal... 'Kindergarden Cop' ftw!

(Arnie voice) Who is your daddy and what does he do?!"

Watched this tonight.. and absolutely adored it!

Amazing soundtrack, stupendous performances from a stellar cast and really not your typical Hollywood film. Definitely will be in my best of 2008!

Never really thought much of Ellen Page (she was good in 'Hard Candy' but she mostly just annoyed the arse of me) but she was fantastic in this and she really has a bright future after this performance.

In fact all the performances were fantastic - Jennifer Garner was very good (though wasn't a stretch of a role to be honest), Jason Bateman was fantastic (
as your opinion of Mark slowly changes throughout the course of the movie
) and Michael Cera was excellent playing a character not-too-far from George Michael Bluth (a bit coy and shy).

Watch this ASAP. While not everyone will like it (it's not specifically a comedy though it is funny), the soundtrack and performances should at least be worth your time.

PS - unfortunately for all your 'Arrested Development' fans - Jason Bateman and Michael Cera don't even share a scene! :(

I realise the press reviews for the movie are very positive but I thought it was just ok. I'm not sure what it was - maybe it was trying too hard to sell Page's character's quirkyness. Having said that, I watched it on a Sunday night and I never really enjoy Sunday night movies. The soundtrack was good though.

I was going to watch it last night but ended up watching Wristcutters A Love Story instead. I'd been waiting over two years to see it and have to say that I loved it. I'd encourage everyone to watch it asap. Now I'm off to watch Juno.

Watched it tonight and I agree with all that basquille has said. Great acting, enjoyable story and a kick ass soundtrack.

I watched it last night too ad loved it too. Ellen Page's lingo pissed me off a little, friggin totally dude, but that didn't detract from this really cute movie.

    Moldy Peaches ftw!

agree with basquille. i loved it, and i thought ellen page was amazing.. liked jk simmons' performance too!

looking forward to watching it again.

without trying to be all clichéd about it, it's this year's Little Miss Sunshine.. this will be big, the word of mouth it's gonna generate will be huge. I've already told about ten people about it and they all want to see it

And I predict it will divide audiences the same way 'Little Miss Sunshine' did! :)

Watched last night, was blown away.
Certainly the best film I've seen in a long time , up there with the last possible great one, ''The Departed''. Page was brilliant, although I would argue not as good as she was in Hard Candy.Michael Cera played his usual deadpan role very well, although was disapointed with his lack of screen time. Garner really surprised me in her role, but then again she did't have much to do. Bateman was brilliant as Mark. It was great the way the director sifted the audiences affection for Mark and there opinion of him in a matter of minutes.

The film was mostly built on very strong preformances, as you can't argue that the film's plot has been done before. But certinally deserves to be in the Oscar race. Hopefully Bateman gets a best supporting nom, I can dream!

I enjoyed that. I never knew Tom Waits was in it until he appeared. Nice surprise!

Just finished watching it there and have to agree it was a very good movie. Loved the soundtrack to it as well. Just a feel good indie movie with an amazing cast.

Amazing how Ellen Page can change her look, one miniute she looks like a guy (Hard Candy),then she suddenly looks amazing in X-Men. You have to love Allison Janney in anything. I'm a big West Wing fan,big Alias fan and big Arrested Development fan,so right away I am loving the majority of the cast! page is also very good, she was freakishly good in Hard Candy as well.

    Well worth seeing.

I agree that it was a brilliant movie and the Soundtrack was fantastic. All the performances were spot and I thought it was very funny in places. I also agree that it is this years Little Miss Sunshine, the tone of the film made me think of LMS straight away.

    Well worth going to see.

Nope, sorry, not sold on this having seen it last night. The performances are very good, but the plot is as hollywood as it gets, wrapped up in indie clothes.

Which brings me to my main complaint, the achingly self indulgent script. I'm sorry, but the hype surrounding Diablo Cody escapes me. Horrible, false, posing script that actually worked against the film.

Not a bad film, but already very overrated, and the idea of it winning best screenplay at the oscars depresses me.

Wow I can't agree with any of that. Just saw it tonight and it's one of the best films I've seen in a long time.

Obviously the soundtrack is fantastic but I found it excellent how they dealt with what can be such a touchy subject. There were laughs and jokes but also some very sad moments. I think it covered all the bases and the acting was second to none from all involved. Deserves every award it gets.

    QUOTE]Wow I can't agree with any of that[/QUOTE]

I said the performances were good. don't agree? ;) It's the screenplay that turned me off the film. "Obviously" the soundtrack is great? It felt like the script, an overdose of twee, precious indie that's overly full of itself. Can't fault the acting, particularly given what they were working with. But it's our indie flavour of the month, so what can you do? If Sophia Coppola can get a screenwriting Oscar, why object to Diablo Cody?

Watched this last night and thought it was a good movie with some great performances but my god the dialogue was cringeworthy at times. Well worth a watch though

watched juno. a bit disappointed. i think it was too hyped and a bit of a let down.michael cerra plays the same character in superbad, juno and arrested development practically.still very good film but i couldnt help thinking if i hadnt heard how amazing it was supposed to be it would have been better. little miss sunshine is better

A saw this film a week or two ago and I'd definitely recommend anyone who hasn't seen it to watch it...

Watched it last night and it was utterly fantastic.

It is one of those films I just can't bring myself to criticise, as it is such a happy, uplifting experience. The performances are spectacular (especially Ellen Page), the script superb and the soundtrack an instant classic (love the Belle and Sebastian and Kimya Dawson / Moldy Peaches tracks).

Deserves all the success it has unexpectedly had.

Watched it yesterday and loved it. I walked straight across the shop where I work and bought the soundtrack. One of those rare films which manages to appeal to most people without lowering its self to the lowest common denominator.

Have to agree with some of the posters above - the dialogue was achingly self conscious, and came across stilted. In spite of that the roles were nicely played. I enjoyed it, but it's not going to change the way we view movies ;)

    Liked the ST. Mott ftw!
