Writing a job description

    Howdy,

    I've got to write a job description for a position i'm currently hiring for - I'm just wondering if anyone has done this before and if they've got any tips on presentation, layout, legal issues etc.

    I'm not sure exactly what kind of information to include or how much detail I should go into; perhaps if people had a few samples that would be great.

    I know it's a fairly simple question but I'm just wondering if there's anything I should watch out for.

    why dont you log into recruitireland.com or monster.ie and look at the job descriptions up there? If you are looking for samples to help you put some structure on your job description, i think this would be an excellent place to start..

    Just be sure not to mention any of these things -

    gender
    marital status
    family status
    sexual orientation
    religion
    age (does not apply to a person under 16)
    disability
    race
    membership of the Traveller community.

    :)

    As stated above, just look at the job adverts on some of the jobsites.
