I havent had it in long, and was wondering what happens when you ring them up to stop the multiroom subsscription. do they come out and snip your cable, or what?

It gets disconnected somewhere. No idea where.

Not in my case it wasn't. I moved into a house that had multiroom .. a main outlet in the living room and 3 others in 3 of the bedrooms, and ntl: wanted to charge me the monthly charge for this. I rang them and complained, on the basis that I hadn't actually asked for it to be installed and didn't want or need it anyway, and they just said OK, we'll stop charging you. Nothing was disconnected and the extra outlets still work (I tested them).

All it is in my case is a 4 way powered splitter/amplifier in the box on the side wall of the house where the ntl: and eircom phone cables come in and that's still there.
