I don't really get this. I've seen that table thing where it shows what two subjects you can together and stuff like that. But what I don't understand is how many points you need to get into it. Like let's say I'm interested in doing Economics and Psychology. Economics was 450 last year, while Psychology was 565. Can I choose to do Economics as my major with Psych as my minor subject and get in with 450? Or do you need the higher points of the two subjects?

I did science so don't quote me on this...

I'm pretty certain it's the higher of the two that count, since it's decided on how many places are in the class. Also I believe it's in JS (third year) that you choose which one to minor and which one to major in.

It's exactly as ApeX said. To get in, you need the higher of the two points levels, and at the end of your third year you decide which to take in fourth year. With some combinations, you would take both subjects for the four years. See http://www.tcd.ie/TSM for all the information you'll need.

Psychology with anything in the TSM is 565, it's 545 by itself. Likewise with History, it goes from 440ish by itself to 510 (I got burned by that ).

You wouldn't have as many modules as single-honour psychology students, but a fairly full timetable all the same. Also you enter the individual course code on the CAO, NOT TR001. And yeah, you major in one of the subjects in 4th year, and you get the degree in both.

Just to reiterate: with certain combinations of subjects, you need to take both subjects for four years.

    Actually, Psychology was 555*.

Trust the guy with 560 points on this. :)
