I thought there was a new channel as i noticed in the telly guide that repeats of Whose Line is it Anyway were on, but then i notice that a lot of the programming is similar to UKTVG2 & thought what? what & who the hell is DAVE?

If i may ask so politely, :D

It replaced UKTVG2 on Monday or Tueday.

Apart from the name, I don't think much else has changed.

Changed on Monday... Quite a bizarre name as well...

    What's Ben??

Edit: Found it, looks like they have a huge budget there... Seriously, who'd watch that station?? Like 8 people or something??

I'm guessing that DAVE was chosen as David is the patron saint of England and is one of the most common English names.

Same as renaming TV3 as Paddy I suppose.

    Imagine all stations like that!

    101 Liam
    102 Sean
    103 Paddy
    104 John
    106 Rupert
    107 Rupert +1

    etc!

They called it "Dave" in reference to what Trigger calls Rodney in Only Fools and Horses.

It is a temporary as far as I know, some season of comedy is on at the moment.

Patron saint of England is George! David is Wales.

I think its just a marketing ploy to get people talking about it.:)

Heh, that was never temporary with Trigger, much to Rodney's annoyance, he still called him that through the series :D
But great to see the rpts of Whose Line is it Anyway with McShane, Stiles & Mochrie as i cant stand that Tony Slattery.

Its not a temporary rename, its been called that as "everyone knows a Dave"; and was part of a rebrand for the channels launch on DTT in the UK.

yeah, apparently the guy in charge said "everybody knows a bloke called Dave" which i guess is true :p
Still dosn't make it any more clear as to why that makes sense; their new tag line is "the home of witty banter"
