Anybody know / recommend where i could get a good microphone for recording sound for a laptop or PC/ Do I need any special softwear ?

Any mic will do, the sound gurus will tell you what you need. Shure are a good bet.. depends on what you want to do, whether its just playing around or actually quality sound recording and production (then you may want to up your sound card)

MS Sound recorder will do very very basic sound recording, anything better you can look into specialist sound software. Again the Sound Prod guys will give you a better answer
