(That the US feels such an award is necessary is another matter entirely!)

"KDFW Suspends Rebecca Aguilar After Controversial "Ambush""

We are all aware of claims of media bias. In this case, a journalist seems to have allowed her personal opinions on a subject interfere with her objectivity. Usually journalistic screw-ups when it comes to anything relating to firearms comes from simple ignorance, but not in this case.

Short story is that she 'ambushes' (interviews on the street) a 70-year-old who was newsworthy after having killed two burglars in three weeks. The youtube link is on the website above, the TV station has pulled the report. Her opinion on the use of lethal force, quite legal in Texas, seems quite clear from her line of questioning as she brings him to tears. The public response was such that the report had been pulled from the website only a couple of hours, the suspension came two days later.

Doubtless she'll be back on the job, but hopefully not before she meets up with the bloke again and offers a truly honest apology.

    NTM

Two burglars in three weeks? This woman doesn't seem to possess much... prudence, whether for her job or her life :)

I think if I was interviewing someone with that reputation I'd be treading a bit more carefully...

The journalist was flat out rude.
