End IT Contract early?

Just got a 3 month IT contract in Vancouver. The thing is there's a better job, which I will be doing a trial for next week, and I'm due to start this job on Monday.
Is it usually possible to leave an IT contract early?

I'm confused. Have you started the job that you wish to finish early?

I'm due to start Job 1 on Monday
I'm due to have a trial for job 2 some day next week
Is it possible to end Job 1 early, if I am offered job 2?
Job 2 is far better job with far better money too

Check your contract, it will be specified in there.

Have you signed a contract with job 1?

You don't actually have job 2 - you only have a trial at the moment. How long a contract is job 2? If it's a longer term then it may be worth a gamble.

Just now you have a definate 3 month start - (any possibility of an extension?)

Push job 2 into an offer straight away - explain the circumstance. Only when you have 2 offers make a decision. Else go for the definate offer. 3 months is not that long, so you can be back on the market without pissing anyone off.

Try to push job 1 into a higher offer???

    Good luck
