Any opinion? Heard it only once, quite solid although there are some weak beats and its a little short. Not touching The Listening but if it turns out to be on the level of The Minstrel Show i'll be happy.

    Haven't heard 9th Wonder's Dream Merchant Vol. 2 or Median's album yet.

Have listened to it a few times now, doesn't match Minstrel Show although their attitude seems to have changed since MS came out. Break My Heart feat. Lil Wayne was terribly average IMO...... Lil Wayne spits some of the corniest similies I've ever heard. Step It Up feat. Dion didn't do much for me either. Rapper Big Pooh has improved though, still not as good as Phonte but he's improving steadily.

Overall it's a decent album...... But not quite as good as I'd expected it to be.

Basically its not touching The Listening and it lacks the standout tracks that The Minstrel Show had. The production just isn't good enough, and its not a matter of 9th walking out(because honestly he has been going downhill for a couple of years), their beat choice is just weak. The Hi-Tek and 9th joints are particurly weak.

Median's album has the soul and tight production that Getback lacked. He isn't a brilliant MC, but then neither are Phonte or Pooh.

well i have to say it i'm bitterly disappointed with this album. i agree with orizio, production is weak, not one stand out track also the album seems to lack any major direction. subject matter is repeated often, this lp can't even be compared to "the listening" (which IMO is one of the finest debut albums to have come out in a hell of a long time) its a shame, cus for me this was a make or break album from lb, i'll still check for new material, but not with the urgency or interest that i did in the past. if i was workin at the source this album wid be lucky to get 2 and a half mic's :(
